This year’s Summer Fancy Food Show was here in New York and, as our bi-yearly tradition, we attended alongside our clients. From the event, one of the themes that emerged is the paramount role that social media presence plays today, even in this industry.
This trade-only event ran June 23-25, at the Javits Center and remains the premier place to spot the newest trends in the field. This year, the Show gathered over 2,600 exhibitors from around the world showcasing 180,000 different specialty products, making it the largest specialty food trade show in North America.
Our clients, some of the most prominent names in the Italian and international food industry, showcased their top-tier product lines along with their latest introductions to the market. As advisors to these food brands, our attendance to the event was aimed at advising them as to most effectively communicate their latest business innovations and trends, as well as acting as strategists in how to best place their new products in the context of an American public not always accustomed to them and their use.
Concurrently, we implemented various social media strategies calibrated to the different clients and their specific strategic needs. These activities included: events that engaged social media influencers, bloggers, and journalists; as well as the hosting of show cooking demonstrations with world-renowned Chefs.
Up next, we will be looking forward to attending the 2018 Winter Fancy Food Show, which will take place in San Francisco, January 21-23, 2018.
